On Tuesday, the clinic received a call from a travelling zoo in Weston, WV who was in need of health certificates and exams for their exotic animals and petting zoo pets. So Dr. Thompson, Dr. Knotts, Hannah (our student technician), and Stephany (myself, clinic photographer and keeper of this blog) loaded up. The travelling zoo is owned and operated by Robert and Patricia Engesser. Jungle Safari exhibits a petting zoo with llamas, a variety of goats, ponies, a tortoise and a calf. Their exotic animals on display include tiger cubs, a lion cub, an adult white tiger, a Capuchin monkey, a kangaroo and a lemur. Let me tell you how impressed I was with this zoo! These animals are loved and well taken care of. The enclosures were spotless, plenty of fresh, clean water and fans throughout. All of the animals were in excellent condition and it was evident by the interaction between the owner and staff and the animals that they receive a lot of attention and are treated with kindness. Needless to say, they received an A+ along with their health certificates and exams. I encourage you to take the time to check out Jungle Safari and learn more about who they are and what they do by visiting their website at http://www.junglesafari.biz
Please take a look at the pictures I have posted. There is always adventure at the Audubon! :)
